I spent my professional career in the computer software industry, and retired in 2013. In 2017 I took up watercolour painting, and discovered a streak of creativity I did not know I had. I put this site in place to enable me to easily share my paintings with friends and family. I hope you enjoy it!
My sister Donna Boyko is a professional artist. She has helped me immensely with both knowledge and encouragement. I have taken beginners classes at several locations in Newmarket, and am still in the early stages of learning to paint with watercolours. My classmate and painting buddy Ann Wallace is learning along with me - it's great having a friend to exchange ideas and commiserate with!
I do my paintings from photographs, classwork, or from images I have found browsing the internet. I have not yet developed the skills to paint a live scene without the guidance of an existing image from which to work. Hopefully someday I will be able to do so! For now, the journey continues as I near the end of the first year. I have done about 100 paintings in the first year and a half of my painting journey.
Some images are my own attempts to reproduce originals created by others
