I spent my professional career in the computer software industry, and retired in 2013. In 2017 I took up watercolour painting, and discovered a streak of creativity I did not know I had. I put this site in place to enable me to easily share my paintings with friends and family. I hope you enjoy it!
My sister Donna Boyko is a professional artist. She has helped me immensely with both knowledge and encouragement. In my first couple years I took classes at several locations in Newmarket, and now am painting and showing my work often. My classmates and painting buddies Ann Wallace and Mary Sinclair have learned along with me, and we collaborate regularly - it's great having friends to exchange ideas and commiserate with!
I do my paintings from photographs, or sometimes seek inspiration from images I have found browsing the internet. I like both realism and abstracts. I do commissions when the opportunity arises, and have reproduced some aging family treasures along the way for folks. Sometimes an online friend I’ve never met posts an interesting photograph, and with their permission i paint it. I have done 100‘s of paintings in the 8 years of my painting journey.
